Frequently Asked Questions

Is it free?

Yes — all of it. The GPS audio tours are free, and so are the tours made by local experts. No booking, no signup, no hidden fees. Open a route and start walking, or start reading.

How long do the walking tours take?

Most routes take 1–3 hours depending on your pace. Since they're self-guided, you can take as long as you want — pause for photos, grab a coffee, or skip stops entirely.

How does the GPS audio work on site?

Open the tour page on your phone's browser at the site. As you approach each stop, the narration plays automatically. Bring headphones for the best experience. No app install is needed.

What's the difference between the PC and mobile experience?

Same link, different role. On a computer the route is an online tour — map, street view, and every stop's story for planning ahead. On your phone at the site, it becomes a live GPS guide that narrates as you walk.

Do I need internet access during the tour?

You only need internet to load the tour initially. After that, GPS tracking and narration work offline. We recommend loading the tour before you leave your hotel or Wi-Fi area.

What's the difference between Our Tours, Expert Tours and AI Tours?

All three are the same thing to use — a GPS audio walking tour that plays each stop as you arrive. What differs is when the tour was made and who stands behind it. Our Tours are 147 ready-made routes: built with AI, then checked by us — coordinates verified against real places and each route tested as a walk — before they went live. Expert Tours are registered by their author under their own name; the ones online today are samples written by our editorial team while we open the section to writers. AI Tours are generated on the spot from a place you search or your current location, useful when no ready-made route reaches you. All three are free.

What are Expert Tours?

Walking tours that a local expert made themselves, stop by stop — what to look at, what it meant, what most visitors walk straight past. Read them on screen or have them read aloud, before you travel or while you walk. Anyone who knows a city well can make one: pick one of our routes or draw your own on the map, write what you'd say at each stop, hear your script read back, and publish it under your name.

What languages are available?

The interface supports English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and French. Tour narration is written in English and Korean, with on-the-fly translation for other languages. Expert-written tours are in the language their author wrote them in, shown on the author's profile.

Is it suitable for first-time visitors?

Absolutely. Each route is curated to hit the must-see landmarks while providing the cultural context guidebooks often skip. It's the easiest way to explore independently without missing what matters.

Can I create a tour for a place you don't cover?

Yes — the AI Custom Guide builds a walking route for any destination. Tell it where you are and how much time you have, and it plans the stops and writes the narration.

Is the narration written by AI? What about the photos?

Both are made with AI, and we say so rather than hide it. Ready-made routes are drafted with AI from published sources, then checked by us before they go live — we verify each stop's coordinates against real places by geocoding them, and we walk-test the route order; tours and stops that turned out not to be walkable have been removed. Expert Tours are written by their author. AI Tours are generated on the spot and labelled as such throughout. The cover images in listings are AI-generated illustrations, not photographs of the places, so treat them as artwork rather than a record of what you will see. Maps and street view come from Google and Naver and show the real place.
