The route

- Plaça de Catalunya — Welcome to Plaça de Catalunya, the beating heart of Barcelona and the true hinge of this city.
- Font de Canaletes — Walk just a few steps down from the square and look for an ornate iron fountain standing right in the middle of the promenade.
- Mercat de la Boqueria — Step inside and prepare yourself—this is the Mercat de la Boqueria, and it is nothing short of Barcelona's edible autobiography.
- Gran Teatre del Liceu — Look to your left and you will see the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
- Palau de la Virreina — Stop for a moment and look at this elegant, stately building.
- Joan Miró's Pavement Mosaic — Before you take another step, look down. I mean it—look at the ground right beneath your feet.
- Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom) — You have reached the bottom of La Rambla. Ahead of you, the boulevard meets the Mediterranean, and standing guard is a 60-meter iron column topped with a bronze statue of Christopher Columbus.
- Port Vell & Rambla de Mar — You have made it to the water's edge, but La Rambla doesn't actually stop at the statue.
